We often talk about color in the art room throughout the school year but I wanted you to have a chance to explore color while you're at home!
Please choose between one or both of the lessons below (the first lesson has a few different options) and send me a photo of your work to my email, agalletti@sacred-heart-school.org. I will be accepting submissions of these lessons until the end of the school year. Thank you and have fun creating!
Lesson 1: Create your own color wheel!
You can trace a circle and divide it into 6 slices and fill in the spaces with the primary and secondary, you can draw different shapes intead of the circle broken into slices to create your wheel, or you can draw different items (like below).
You can also create a 3d color wheel using items from around your house! Look at some examples below!! Get creative and HAVE FUN!!
Lesson 2: Discover secondary and complimentary colors through color mixing! Take a moment to look at the color wheel. Identify the primary colors, red, blue and yellow and secondary colors, purple, green and orange. Compemetary colors are the colors on the wheel that are directly across from each other.
You can mix the primary colors together to make the secondary colors and you can also see what happens when you mix the complimentary colors together! Have fun!
