St. Margaret Mary loved our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament very much. He showed her His Sacred Heart in four visions. At the age of 26, Margaret Mary had the first apparition. Christ appeared to her and told her she was to be His messenger. Her heart was put in His and every First Friday from then on, she felt the wound in her heart reopen. During the second great revelation, she saw the Sacred Heart with a crown of thorns around it and with a cross. Christ asked that this image be venerated and worn promising blessing for those who did.
Early in June 1674, a third apparition came. Christ asked that the Eucharist be received as often as possible but especially on nine consecutive First Fridays and the Thursday before a Holy Hour of reparation. If souls would do this, eternal salvation would be granted!
In June of 1675, a fourth and final apparition came. Christ asked for a special feast to be liturgically celebrated on the First Friday after the octave of Corpus Christi, a feast whose purpose was to be reparation. Christ showed her his Heart and said, "Behold, the heart that has so loved men that it has spared nothing."
Jesus made 12 promises to St. Margaret Mary, telling her how He would help those who honor His Sacred Heart. In 1920, Margaret Mary was canonized as a saint of the Catholic Church after thorough investigation into her life, her writings and miracles performed at her behest.
