Over 20 years ago, the National Education Association (NEA) decided to do something BIG to get kids excited about reading. They called it NEA's Read Across America. Launched and celebrated annually on Dr. Seuss's birthday, March 2, it was - and still is - the largest celebration of reading this country has ever seen.
On March 2nd, 2023, Dr. Seuss would have been 120! We celebrated with some themed dress-up days for the students and special readings of our favorite Dr. Seuss stories. Our featured stories in the Library this year were the tongue-twisting "Fox in Sox" and the classic "The Cat in the Hat." Several middle school classes did a dramatic reading of "The Lorax."
