Hi, my name is Mrs. Matheson. I will be teaching 3rd Grade this year. I am married to a wonderful husband, have three grown children, one granddaughter, and a grand-dog named Melvin. I am very excited to have a new grandchild arriving this summer. I love to travel, play tennis, go hiking, and watch live sporting events. My favorite sports are baseball and college football. My favorite baseball team is the Jersey Shore BlueClaws and my favorite football team is Army.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Western Governors University. I am certified to teach elementary education.
I love working with our students and staff here at Sacred Heart School because everyone always puts forth their best effort and truly cares about each other. I want students to bloom where they are planted. Sacred Heart School is the perfect garden for students to sow the seeds of their intellectual curiosity, nurture their minds, and blossom within Christ.
My favorite subject to teach is mathematics. I enjoy seeing students find their self-confidence as they gain understanding of new math concepts and apply them in solving problems.
I cherish going to our monthly Mass with the entire school in attendance. There’s a special bond knowing that we are one in Christ.
My favorite Bible verse is “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace to me has not been ineffective. Indeed I have toiled harder that all of them; not I, however, but the grace of God [that is] with me.” – 1st Corinthians 15:10
“Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” Mother Teresa (St. Teresa of Calcutta)
