The focus will be on activities that will plant the seeds for music competence. Each week your child will participate in a variety of musical experiences to increase tonal memory, pitch matching, and rhythmic ability. These activities will aid in your child’s tonal and rhythmic development.
Music Gr. 1-3
Most children at this age like to sing, move to the beat, and play instruments. What a great time to foster a love for music! Musical experiences will be continued to further increase your child’s tonal and rhythmic development. Your child will begin to read simple note and rhythmic notation.
Music Gr. 4-5
Let’s put it all together! Your child will continue to build his/her music competence by singing, participating in musical activities, and playing the recorder. We will be using a recorder program called “Recorder Karate,” students will earn “belts” as they master skills on the recorder.
