My name is Mrs. Asch, and I am the School Librarian. SHS Library
I am married and have one daughter (who is a Sacred Heart alumna). I enjoy reading, gardening, and doing outdoor activities like canoeing, camping, and swimming. I am also active in my church and serve as their Director of Christian Formation.
I have an M.S. in Library and Information Science from Drexel University and a B.A. in English with a minor in Education from Muhlenberg College. I am a professional Librarian and was also certified to teach Secondary English in PA.
I love Sacred Heart because it feels like a family. I love the kids - they make my day.
I love my job because I get to share the joy of reading and the adventures that can be found in a good book. My favorite thing is when a student discovers a book that they absolutely love - their enthusiasm is contagious. I truly believe there is a story out there for everyone, including the most reluctant of readers.
There are so many great traditions and activities at Sacred Heart. My favorites include Purple Passion, the Living Rosary, and, of course, Book Fair and Library Club.
My favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God and Christ Jesus our Lord." And my favorite hymn is "What a Friend we have in Jesus."
