Elementary (K-3) Overview:

• Beginning with an appreciation of God as Creator, our students become familiar with the Bible, simple prayers and a variety of Church celebrations throughout the liturgical year.
  • 2nd Grade students prepare for the sacramentsof Reconciliation and First Communion as they learn about the saints and the structure of the Mass.
  • 3rd Grade students learn about the Church as a prayerful, caring and ministering community.
• A well-rounded, Integrated Language Arts curriculum emphasizing:
  • Reading, writing, speaking and listening skills
  • Phonics, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, mechanics, comprehension
  • Penmanship and cursive writing 
• Mathematics including:
  • Addition, subtraction, time, place values, properties of operation, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, problem solving
• Hands on Science teaching:
  • life, physical, and earth sciences as well as the human body
• Social Studies-history, geography, economics, and civics from a global and diverse perspective
