It is the goal of Sacred Heart Extended Day Program to provide a healthy, safe, and secure environment for participants. We teach the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Children who attend the program are expected to follow the behavior guidelines and to interact appropriately in a group setting.
•Students are responsible for their actions.
•We respect each other and each other’s property.
•Honesty will be the basis for all relationships and interactions.
•We will care for ourselves and those around us.
The following behaviors are not acceptable and may result in the immediate suspension of a child for the remainder of the current day and the next day:
•Endangering the health and safety of children and/or staff
•Stealing or damaging Sacred Heart School or personal property.
•Leaving EDP without permission
•Refusing to follow the behavior guidelines
•Using profanity, vulgarity, or obscenity frequently
•Acting in a lewd manner
If any of these behaviors continue, EDP staff may suspend the child a second time before expulsion.
You MUST park and come inside for pick-up. People other than the parents, authorized for pick-up, must be at least 18 years old and show their driver’s license for positive identification before the child will be released from the program each day. Pick-up time is no later than 6:00 p.m. each day of the program.
It is your responsibility to contact EDP by phone or email at least 24 hours in advance of any changes or conflicts in schedules.
In the event that you do not arrive on time (no later than 6:00 p.m. daily) to pick-up your child from the program a late fee of $1 per minute will be charged any time your child is picked up after 6:00 p.m. We ONLY accept checks made payable directly to Sacred Heart School (memo: LATE FEE) on premises providing care for your child at the time of late pick up. Late fees are due at the time of late pick-up. Late fees must be paid before children can return to the program.
If you are late we will make every attempt to contact parents first. If we cannot contact the parents, we will then contact the emergency contacts you have listed. If none of your emergency contacts are available to pick up your child within 30 minutes (latest 6:30), we must contact Child Protective Services and follow the State of New Jersey Social Services recommendations, which may lead to calling the local police department.
If you are late picking up your child more than 6 times total, we reserve the right to remove your child from the program without any refunds. In the event of a true emergency, the same guidelines will be followed but we will not charge late fees. Sacred Heart EDP reserves the right to ask for proof of emergency to be provided. Traffic and/or public transit delays and weather delays are not considered emergencies.
